Vapor Hockey Sticks
Like all other hockey sticks, the Vapor series comes with a number of options to choose from. One of the hardest decisions involves the blade shape. Sticks with the curve at the toe provide the best puck control and quickest wrist shots, but will take some time to learn how to handle properly. A heel curve provides a big sweet spot for powerful slap shots, directing deflections or popping a one-timer, but will not be very good for flashy moves with the puck. A mid curve gives you a little of both worlds for all-around use. The depth or amount of the curve in Vapor sticks affects hockey shots. A little depth provides a bigger effective hitting zone for power shots. but it can be difficult for beginners to get the puck in the air and puck handling is harder. A deep curve allows you send the puck into the air on slap shots, one-timers and deflections and to manipulate the puck more easily, but the sweet spot is smaller and backhanded shots are difficult. A moderate depth gives you an all-around feel, though with less backhand ability. Getting the Right Vapor Hockey Sticks If you are a beginner, start with a Vapor stick with a middle curve and moderate depth until you learn what kind of style fits your play. If you are a power-shot artist, you'll benefit from a heel curve and slight or medium depth to get the puck airborne. If you prefer slicing and dicing and solid puck handling, purchase a toe curve with moderate or deep curve depth for even more control.
